Genusis

 

Genusis was deep into their own design process for their inaugural Outcast model when we were called into action. The challenge was to create something that fit their already defined aesthetic, while hinting towards their key inspiration.

The Logo

We boiled down some deep philosophical decisions made by Genusis into one core theme: Infinity. With a watch, you can measure your own small piece of the infinite. This is why the logo itself contains an hourglass and six sided circle, the latter of the two representing the infinite Library of Babel—A reference to the novella by Jorge Luis Borges.

The logo on the watch dial itself reproduces at around 7 x 4.5 millimetres, which requires an amount of simplicity and space between the elements to remain legible.

Although this brand identity contains a much deeper meaning for the people involved, we were happy to turn their lofty vision into a meaningful form with practical use. It fits the look and feel of their work, and seems perfectly at home on the dial of a watch.
